Hakko sells a wide variety of soldering tips for $6 (or less) each. The ceramic heating element and temperature sensor system are used on some very high-end production grade soldering stations.
I am an electronics technician and Amateur Radio operator. I use my 936 at home.
Hakko is a Japanese company. My unit was made in Singapore.
