(More customer reviews)Teamed with a propane torch- this is about the only way short of heli-arc welding to non-mechanically fabricate aluminum parts together. It does pay to be careful that you get the metal hot enough to allow the rod to melt, wet, and flow smoothly, - - but not hot enough to soften or melt the aluminum you are joining. Because there is no color change in the metal as there is with steel (red, orange, white hot) you need to pay attention and repeatedly test while heating as to when the work pieces are hot enough to melt the rod. A great option to have when you don't or cant bolt, sheet metal screw, nuts and bolts, or screw and tap.
