(More customer reviews)I like the somewhat fine tip. Just used this device to solder a wiring harness onto an aftermarket head unit and it did alright. It's not what I consider a "real" soldering gun and I know I could have gotten one of this caliber a bit cheaper from Harbor Freight but it does the job and shipping was fast and it saved me a trip to Harbor Freight. Be advised, this unit (as is the case with most cheaper soldering irons) is going to smoke a bit when new and will likely smoke for about 3 minutes. If it smokes from metal barrel and/or tip when new, that's alright, but if it continues to smoke beyond 5 minutes or smokes from the handle area, unplug it immediately and return it, that's not normal.
I got my wires soldered, so it did what it was supposed to do and didn't cost much.
