(More customer reviews)Even though I don't often need to do any soldering, the Weller station that I inherited from my Dad is not easy to use with PCB's.The tip is just too danged big. However this Pencil Iron with variable temperature is a real winner. Sure it's not as solidly constructed as the Weller station, which is probably at least 50 years old, but what is? It works very well heats up quickly and is easy to use. I've been using this for delicate, fiddly kind of stuff so it's certainly no problem to avoid rough handling for the iron. The temperature control also lets me have enough heat to get solder flowing but not so much to damage at the plastic.
