(More customer reviews)I have Copper Bond joints that I put in over 5 years ago that are doing just fine. You have to be careful with the mixing, but the one time I messed up I was able to hit it with a torch and the bond let go and I cleaned and re-bonded it. (Put a smashed flat tin can between the pipe and the flammables!)
I mostly used it when the pipe was either right next to something flammable or part of the pipe was hidden behind a wall and I was afraid to crank on the pipe to install a compression fitting. The Einstein that installed the HVAC venting in my house ran it (insulated flex duct) right along the pipe sections, which makes Copper Bond a great solution to install a tap for my ice maker connection and my humidifier connection (put a tee with a valve and a stub for those, don't install a saddle valve on your main piping!)
I'm also a perfectionist and I hate seeing burned/blued fittings!
