First, the minor niggles: For this price, would like self-ignition. Also, the throttle ring doesn't have a stop for the lowest setting, so it's easy to inadvertently turn it off. FOr this price, it should come with a case or slip cover - something that can store the blower tip that came with it.
Good things: Lights easily with a lighter or match. The burner is stainless steel, so it's much more rugged than the Pyropen Jr with the ceramic burner. Temp control is good. The cap is metal, so you can put it back on immediately when done using it, without worry of melting it.
Overall, I'd say it's probably the best tool in it's class, but would like to see Weller take care of the minor issues.
